Boston, MA, 02/26/2014 (usastockreport) – The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU) stands to face a probe from The Federal Trade Commission and a Pennsylvania district attorney’s office in connection to fraud induced money transfers. On Monday, the company disclosed through its regulatory filings that it has received a civil investigative demand from the FTC as well as multiple subpoenas from the U.S. attorney’s office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. These probes come on the backdrop of several complaints received from the customers over the problematic cash transfers from the year 2008. The world’s largest money transfer company runs the risk of being penalized if the probe turns up positive. The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU) noted in the filings that it may receive additional requests for information and that is fully supporting the probe.
Lowe’s Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW), a home furnishing retailer, has been soaring ahead of its fourth quarterly report, which is set to be reported before the opening of the Wednesday’s trade. Xerox Corp (NYSE:XRX) earns a contract from PatientPoint to help it to improve patient engagement and delivery of care. The contract will fetch Xerox $28 million, under which Xerox will be responsible to introduce PatientPoint’s population health management and digital check in at the hospitals and among practicing physicians.
