Micron-Altera Design Team Of The Year
Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) recently announced that it had been declared a winner in the category called the Design Team of the Year in the awards events event called the EDN 2014 UBM Tech ACE Awards. Micron Technology won this award along with Altera for developing a Hybrid Memory Cube more commonly known as the HMC, which is the first ever in its industry and is reported to be working properly. Micron Technology created the HMC in collaboration with Altera and this development is being called a team effort.
The Vice President of the Micron’s networking and compute business unit, namely, Tom Eby talked of his elation on this occasion. He said that Micron Technology and Altera have been in collaboration over the Hybrid Memory Cube technology since the year 2009 only but this was the first time ever that the companies were able to demonstrate a fully operational HMC controller. He also mentioned that it was an honor for him and his company Micron Technology for having received such a prestigious award for its hard work, innovation and perseverance.

Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) has recently announced that it would be joining the OpenPOWER Foundation as a platinum member, which makes software and hardware available for the purpose of open development and also provides licensing over the Intellectual Property owned by POWER to others.
