The scheduled merger is beneficial for the semiconductor companies like Skyworks and the others due to the consolidation of the RF component market, which will place few options for manufacturers like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung for their Smartphone components. The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE:HD) welcomes the day reporting another solid quarter. The home improvement retailer came high on EPS expectation with a figure of $0.73 per share, but missed the revenue estimate by $0.22 billion at $17.7 billion. In the fourth quarter, the company stated that its comparable store sales increased 4% year-over-year. Its total expenses also improved with a decline of 4% to $4.43 billion on account of decreased SG&A costs. For the fiscal year 2014, The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE:HD) anticipates sales to grow 4.8% and an operating margin growth of 70 bps. The full year EPS target is set at $4.38 per share.

The decisive day of Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) about its gigafactory plans is fast approaching and the market is full of speculation on the relevant results that this decision will unfold for the company. Currently, there are two different schools of thoughts emerging about the impact of this factory on Tesla’s revenues and expense incurred per battery. Additionally, opinions also vary in the expected driving range of the vehicles produced out of this factory.
