Northern, WI 06/21/2013 (usastockreport) – The share prices of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) had surged by 1.92 percent to close at $73.03 per share for the end of last trading session on Thursday. The shares of the company had been trading in the range of $73.01 to $74.66 per during the day, which had pushed the company to hit new peaks. The shares of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) had a market capitalization of $242.02 billion. The stock opened at $74.50 per share.

 Wal-mart Foundation (NYSE: WMT) announced $14 million in grants to provide more than 1.7 million children and families with free meals and nutrition education programs. The grants will expand access to meals for children outside of school this summer and throughout the year, while also teaching families how to develop healthy, low-cost eating habits. Julie Gehrki, senior director of the Wal-mart Foundation said that they recognize that many children rely on the meals provided at school to sustain an adequate nutrition level, and often go without after class ends and during summer vacation. That’s why they committed to supporting organizations that work to ensure children have access to meals all year long and are also teaching families about eating healthy.

 Wal-mart Foundation (NYSE: WMT) operates retail stores in various formats around globally.
