Northern, WI 04/10/2013 (usastockreport) – The largest telecommunication company in the United States, AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) (Closed: $37.76, Up by 0.37%) is signing up a roaming agreement with Boingo Wireless Inc (NASDAQ:WIFI) (Closed: $6.12, Up by 4.08%). This pact will provide the AT&T customers with easy access and coverage in Wi-Fi hotspots in major international airports across the globe. An increasing number of globe-trotters including regular business travelers rely heavily on wireless devices and prefer to get their business done on the go. Most airports are dotted with Wi-Fi hotspots where users can get wireless connectivity for their wireless devices. AT&T customers who travel internationally will now be able to sign up for the new global data packages that the company will be launching.
Wi-Fi accessibility everywhere
These packages will offer customers the functionality of seamless roaming services whilst on the AT&T network. In addition to airports, users will also be able to access WI-Fi at sports arenas and restaurants, shopping malls, coffee shops and stadiums. This deal has already been sealed and customers can access all these services with immediate effect. Customers who have subscribed to the global data packages will now be able to use up to 1 gigabyte of Wi-Fi data per month at no extra cost. Boingo has an impressively extensive network that spans almost every part of the globe and said that on an annual basis, its Wi-Fi network has 1.5 billion worldwide users.
The Los Angeles-based Boingo is in the business of providing Wi-Fi or Wireless Fidelity services to global networks. People using devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops are provided with one-click access via the Boingo network.
